Explore the opportunities

Even though all anyone seems to talk about these days is Apple and Android, one fact remains - Symbian continues to significantly out ship all other platforms. That means there are more consumers with Symbian devices for you to target with your apps and services than any other smartphone platform.

According to Gartner, over 80 million Symbian devices were sold worldwide in 2009. That’s about 47% of the entire global smartphone market. To put that another way, it would take the combined sales of the iPhone, RIM, Windows Mobile and Android to give the same volume opportunity.

If you take into account cumulative sales over the last two years (a better gauge of the market) Symbian devices have outsold other platforms by a minimum of 2.7:1 (for RIM) and have outsold Android devices by 20:1.

Imagine the possibilities

As we all know, innovation in the industry happens at a rapid pace and Symbian has the brains and the brawn of the entire ecosystem to keep its platform cutting edge. Symbian^3, the most recent feature complete version will bring new features as well as better usability to future devices and this is only the start. In other words, we aren’t going anywhere, but don’t just take our word for it…
